Androscoggin Ranger District (White Mountain)

The Androscoggin Ranger District of White Mountain National Forest comprises the northern portion of the forest and stretches into Maine.  The district includes the Presidential Range and Mount Washington, the highest point in New Hampshire.  There are several ski areas in the district and snowmobiling trails for winter recreation.  The district contains hundreds of miles of hiking trails, including the Appalachian Trail and there are a number of waterfalls.

Appalachia Trailhead:


The Appalachia Trailhead provides access to a number of trails and scenic waterfalls in the northern end of the Presidential Range.


Pinkham Notch:


Pinkham Notch provides access to Mount Washington as well as other popular hiking trails.
