White Mountain National Forest

White Mountain National Forest is a 750,000-acre National Forest, primarily in New Hampshire, but also stretching into Maine.  The forest protects the White Mountains in northern New England and is home to numerous recreation activities in all seasons.  Winter activities include skiing and snowmobiling trails.  In the warmer months, there are 23 developed campgrounds, many miles or rivers for fishing and water activities and more than 1200 miles of hiking trails, including sections of the Appalachian Trail.

Androscoggin Ranger District comprises lands in the northern part of the forest and stretches into Maine.
