Cold Brook Falls (Appalachia)

Cold Brook Falls is a 20-foot waterfall on its namesake in Coös County, New Hampshire.  The waterfall is located in the Androscoggin Ranger District in White Mountain National Forest and accessed from Appalachia Trailhead.

Directions:


From Gorham, head west on US-2 for 5.4 miles past the split with NH-16 and the parking area will be on the left.  This is a popular trailhead and fills quickly.  Parking is permitted along US-2, but ensure your vehicle is completely off the road.

Hike Description:


From the kiosk at the trailhead walk to the power lines and go right on yellow-blazed The Link Trail.  Follow this for about 0.6 miles to a footbridge over Cold Brook.


Don't cross, instead follow a path upstream a short ways to the waterfall.


There are some nice cascades downstream as well.


It's very photogenic and I spent some time scrambling around on the rocks to get pictures.
