From Bryson City, head west on US-74 for about 20 miles and turn left on Wayah Road.  Go 4 miles and to a pull off on the right right at the top of the waterfall.  It's less than 1/4 mile before the turn for Old River Road.

Hike Description:

The pull off is right at the top of the Cascades.

A paved footpath along the river leads to a good view of the waterfall.

The Cascades are a popular place for fishing and very experienced paddlers can kayak over them.  I believe the paddlers call this Big Kahuna.

There is another decent sized cascade just about 1/10 of a mile downstream.
