Texas Falls Recreation Area (Green Mountain)

Texas Falls Recreation Area is a National Forest recreation area in the Rochester Ranger District of Green Mountain National Forest in Addison County between the Lake Champlain Byway and Scenic Route 100 Byway.  Named for a scenic waterfall on Hancock Branch of White River, the area has a picnic area with a pavilion available for rent, a nature trail along the creek and through the forest and scenic views of Texas Falls.  For visitor safety, swimming is prohibited.

Directions:


From Middlebury, head south on US-7 for about 3.5 miles and turn VT-125 east.  Go 13.0 miles and turn left on Texas Falls Road (Forest Road 39).  The parking for the Observation Site is in 0.5 miles and parking for the picnic area is in 0.7 miles.
