Texas Falls (Green Mountain)

Texas Falls is a 30-foot waterfall in multiple sections on Hancock Branch in Addison County, Vermont.  The waterfall is located in Texas Falls Recreation Area.

Directions:


From Middlebury, head south on US-7 for about 3.5 miles and turn VT-125 east.  Go 13.0 miles and turn left on Texas Falls Road (Forest Road 39).  Go 0.5 miles and the parking area is on the left.  If it is full, there is additional parking further down FR-39.

Hike Description:


Walk back up the road a short ways to the bridge over Hancock Branch.  The waterfall is easily visible upstream.


For a view of the lower portion, cross the bridge and turn right on Texas Falls Nature Trail.  An obvious path on the right leaves the trail and goes down to the creek.
