Gorge and Potawatomi Falls (Black River)

Gorge Falls and Potawatomi Falls are two beautiful waterfalls on Black River in Gogebic County, Michigan.  The waterfalls are located in Black River Harbor Recreation Area in Ottawa National Forest.

Directions:


From Bessemer, head west on US-2 for about 1.5 miles and turn right on Powderhorn Road.  Drive 3 miles and turn left on Black River Road.  Follow this road for 9.7 miles and turn right at the trailhead parking for Gorge & Potawatomi Falls.

Hike Description:


From the parking area, a trail leads down to an overlook for Gorge Falls.


The North County Trail runs through this area.  Go south for about 0.1 miles to an overlook for Potawatomi Falls.
