Big Walker Mountain (Jefferson)

Big Walker Mountain and the surrounding area is part of Mount Rogers National Recreation Area in Jefferson National Forest in southwest Virginia.  The area is home to several mountains, including Big Walker Mountain, Little Walker Mountain and Seven Sisters.  There is a developed campground, several miles of hiking trails and a scenic drive leading to a private lookout tower.

Seven Sisters Trail (#6509):


Seven Sisters Trail runs from a trailhead along Route 717 and leads up to the ridgeline, crossing the summits of several peaks, including Little Walker Mountain.  The trail then descends to Stony Fork Campground.


Stony Fork Trail (#6502):


Stony Fork Trail makes a loop from the campground that intersects with Seven Sisters Trail.
