Quick Stop at DuPont Forest

Sunday morning, we went to DuPont State Forest.  First we made a quick stop to see Hooker Falls.

Then we hiked to see Triple Falls.

Unfortunately, there was no more time and had to head back to Raleigh.

Big Brevard 2011

This weekend was the Big Brevard Camping trip. Friday afternoon, we drove to Kuykendall camp site just south of Brevard and set up camp. Saturday morning, we woke up and headed to Gorges State Park and hiked into Pisgah National Forest to see Rainbow Falls and Turtleback Falls.

At Turtleback Falls, we had a great time doing the "water slide", sliding down the falls and swimming in the falls basin.

After this, there was torrential rain and we headed into Brevard to escape the rain.
