Swallow Creek Wildlife Management Area

Swallow Creek Wildlife Management Area is a 19,000-acre Georgia Wildlife Management Area in Chattahoochee National Forest in Towns County.  The area is used for hunting as well as hiking, camping, fishing and wildlife viewing.  The area consists of forest lands roughly bounded by US-76 to the north, GA-17/75 to the west and the Appalachian Trail to the south and east.  Part of Tray Mountain Wilderness is within the WMA as well as High Shoals Scenic Area.

Trails:


High Shoals Falls Trail (#19):


Length: 1.2 miles
Blaze: Green

High Shoals Falls Trail starts from a trailhead on Indian Grave Gap Road (FR-283) and descends to High Shoals Creek.  After crossing on a footbridge the trail follows the creek downstream past Blue Hole Falls and ends at the base of High Shoals Falls.

Blue Hole Falls is a 20-foot waterfall that drops into a beautiful blue pool.


High Shoals Falls:


High Shoals Falls is a tall waterfall on High Shoals Creek.
