Quarry Falls (Cullasaja)

Quarry Falls, also known as Bust-Yer-Butt Falls, is a small waterfall on Cullasaja River in Macon County, North Carolina.  The waterfall is located in the Cullasaja Gorge in Nantahala National Forest near Highlands.

From Highlands, head west on US-64 for about 6.9 miles to a pull-off on the left and park here.

Hike Description:


Quarry Falls is just upstream of the parking area.  There are a bunch of rocks in the river to scramble around on.


In the summer, it's a very popular spot for swimming and sliding, hence Bust-Yer-Butt Falls.
