Potomac Ranger District (Monongahela)

The Potomac Ranger District of Monongahela National Forest is located near Petersburg.  The district contains West Virginia's highest peak, Spruce Knob and iconic Seneca Rocks, part of Spruce Knob-Seneca Rocks National Recreation Area as well as the scenic Smoke Hole Canyon.  There are two wilderness areas, five developed campgrounds, and many miles of trails.
