Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park

Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park is a National Park unit surrounding Great Falls of the Passaic in Paterson, New Jersey.  The 77-foot waterfall played a significant role in the industrial development of the United States and was selected by Alexander Hamilton as the site of the nation's first planned industrial city.  The site was designated as a National Natural Landmark in 1967 and New Jersey developed plans for a state park surrounding the falls in the early 2000s.  In 2009, it was established as a National Historical Park.
