Natural Arch Scenic Area (Daniel Boone)

Natural Arch Scenic Area in the Stearns Ranger District of Daniel Boone National Forest has numerous opportunities for outdoor recreation.  The highlight of the area is 100-foot sandstone arch.  Additionally, the area has picnic areas and an amphitheater as well as several hiking trails to the arch and other scenic points.  As a day use area, camping and overnight parking are prohibited.  There is a day-use fee for visiting, payable at self-serve kiosks at the entrance to parking.

Directions:


From Whitley City, head north on US-27 for about 8 miles and turn left on KY-927.  Drive 1.8 miles and turn right to enter the Natural Arch Scenic Area.  Self-serve kiosks are on the right to pay the day use fee.

Natural Arch Loop Trail (#510):


Natural Arch Loop Trail starts from the picnic area and is paved out to an overlook of the arch.  From here, the trail descends and passes under the arch, making a loop.
