Laurel Falls (Worthington)

Laurel Falls is a 30-foot sliding waterfall on Sunfish Creek in Warren County, New Jersey.  There is a 15-foot waterfall just downstream.  The waterfalls are located in Worthington State Forest.

Directions:


Go west on I-80 to exit 1, the last exit before the toll bridge at the Delaware Water Gap, and bear right to get on River Road that becomes Old Mine Road.  Drive 4 miles from the interstate and turn left at the campground and Douglas Trailhead parking.

Hike Description:


From the parking area, cross Old Mine Road.  Douglas Trail begins here and bears right away from the creek.  Another obvious path heads upstream along the creek and almost immediately reaches Lower Laurel Falls.


It's a small sliding waterfall, about 15 feet high.


Continue up the path along the creek for another couple hundred feet to Laurel Falls, a 30-foot sliding waterfall in two sections.
