Holly Shelter Game Land

Holly Shelter Game Land is a 63,520-acre North Carolina Game Land in Pender County.  The Game Land is composed pocosin and swamp land between NC-53 and US-17 in the Mid-Atlantic Coastal Plain.  The primary uses are hunting and fishing, but the area is also open to wildlife viewing and hiking and the Mountains-to-Sea Trail runs through the area.  The area is home to numerous species of birds and other wildlife, including alligators.

Segment 15 of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail follows gravel roads for about 19 miles through the game land.
