George Washington National Forest

George Washington National Forest is a National Forest covering more than 1,000,000 acres of forest in western Virginia with a small area in West Virginia.  It is managed jointly with Jefferson National Forest, making the combined forests one of the largest areas of protected land in the eastern United States.  The combined forests are headquartered in Roanoke.
