Carson National Forest

Carson National Forest is a 1.5-million acre National Forest in northern New Mexico.  Elevations in the forest range from 6,000 feet to 13,161 feet at Wheeler Peak, the highest point in the state.  There are five wilderness areas in the forest, as well as campgrounds, scenic drives and many miles of hiking trails, including the Continental Divide Trail.
