Verlie Falls (Santeetlah)

Verlie Falls is a roadside waterfall on Avey Creek, a tributary of Lake Santeetlah, in Graham County, North Carolina.  The waterfall is located in Nantahala National Forest near Joyce Kilmer-Slickrock Wilderness.

Directions:

From Robbinsville, head west on NC-143 BUS for about 2.5 miles and bear left on NC-143 W.  Drive 6.9 miles and turn right on Santeetlah Road.  Go a little over 2 miles to a 4-way stop sign and go straight towards Maple Springs Overlook.  Go a total of 4 miles from NC-143 to a wide grassy pull-off on the right just after crossing Avery Creek.

Walk back on the road to see the waterfall.  Not much to see in low water and summer foliage.
