Upper Woodfin Cascades (BRP)

Upper Woodfin Cascaeds is a 15-foot waterfall on Woodfin Creek in Jackson County, North Carolina.  The waterfall is located along the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Warnings: It's a steep but short scramble to the base.  The rocks around waterfalls are very slippery.

Directions:


From Waynesville, head west on US-29 S/US-74 W for about 4 miles and turn right to get on the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Turn right to head southbound on the parkway and drive 3.1 miles to the Woodfin Cascades Overlook on the left.

Hike Description:


Cross the street from the parking area and go left.  A blue-blazed spur trail leads to the Mountains-to-Sea Trail here.  The waterfall can be seen from the road, but a scramble path right to the left of the spur trail leads down to the base for a better view.
