Directions:
From Ithaca, head north on NY-96 for about 7 miles and turn right on Jacksonville Road. Drive 1.6 miles and turn right into a parking area just before the bridge over Taughannock Creek.

Hike Description:
From the parking area, pick up the South Rim Trail and go just hundred feet or so and turn right just before passing under the bridge. Go up and across the bridge; this is about the only place to view the falls from.
There's a nice view looking downstream into the gorge here as well.
