Taughannock Falls State Park

Taughannock Falls State Park is a 750-acre New York state park in the Finger Lakes region north of Ithaca in Tompkins County.  The park's namesake is the 215-foot Taghannock Falls, one of the highest waterfalls on the east coast.  The park features a campground on Cayuga Lake as well as numerous trails through the gorge and along the rim surrounding the waterfall.

Directions:


From Ithaca, head north on NY-96 for about 7 miles and turn right on Jacksonville Road.  Drive 1.7 miles and turn right to enter the park.

Taughannock Falls:


At 215 feet, Taughannock Falls is one of the highest freefalling waterfalls in the eastern United States.


Taughannock Lower Falls:


Lower Taughannock Falls is a scenic 20-foot waterfall near the start of the Gorge Trail.


Taughannock Upper Falls:


Upper Taughannock Falls is a 100-foot waterfall that can be viewed from the bridge on North Rim Trail.
