Upper Tahquamenon Falls

Upper Tahquamenon Falls is a 50-foot high, 200-foot wide waterfall on Tahquamenon River in Chippewa County, Michigan.  The waterfall is located in Tahquamenon Falls State Park.

Directions:


From St. Ignace, head north on I-75 for about 5 miles and take exit 352 for MI-123.  Turn left onto MI-123 north and go 22.5 miles then turn right to stay on MI-123 north.  Drive another 33 miles and turn left onto MI-123 south.

Hike Description:


From the parking area, follow the paved trail south towards the river.  Turn right at the Y-intersection and there are a couple nice views of the falls from the trail.


At the end is a staircase that leads to an overlook at the top of the falls.


Past the Y-intersection is another trail that leads down into the gorge and has views from river level.
