Tettegouche State Park

Tettegouche State Park is a 9000-acre Minnesota State Park along Baptism River on the North Shore of Lake Superior.  The area had been logged in the early 20th century and the lumber company sold the land in 1910 to the Tettegouche Club, a group of Duluth businessman that used the camp as a retreat.  The land stayed in private hands until the 1970s when the landowners entered negotiations with the Nature Conservancy to protect the land in perpetuity.  Tettegouche State Park was established in 1979.
