Spring Mountains National Recreation Area

Springs Mountain National Recreation Area covers over 300,000 acres of land in Toiyabe National Forest northwest of Las Vegas in Clark and Nye Counties.  The area contains rugged mountains with steep cliffs and deep canyons surrounded by desert landscape.  Mount Charleston at 11,918 feet above sea level is within the area and the land surrounding the peak is protected as Mount Charleston Wilderness.  The recreation area contains campgrounds, picnic areas, hiking trails along with skiing and winter sports.

Trails:


Little Falls Trail:


Little Falls Trail starts from the Echo Trailhead in Kyle Canyon and leads about 3/4 mile to the ephemeral waterfall.


Robbers' Roost Trail (#25162):


Robber's Roost Trail starts along Deer Creek Road (NV-158).  The trail leads a quarter-mile up into a canyon and past a couple caves.  According to legend, horse thieves and cattle wranglers hid their stolen goods in the cave.

Little Falls is an ephemeral waterfall fed by snowmelt in Kyle Canyon.
