Spoon Creek Falls (Wynoochee)

Spoon Creek Falls is an 80-foot waterfall on Spoon Creek, a tributary of West Fork Satsop River, in Grays Harbor County, Washington.  The waterfall is located in Olympic National Forest near Lake Wynoochee.

Directions:


From Montesano, head west on US-12 for about a mile and take the exit for Devonshire Road.  At the end of the exit, turn left on Wynoochee Valley Road.  Drive 33.2 miles and turn right on Forest Road 23.  Follow FR-23 for 2.5 miles to a small parking area on the side of the road.

Hike Description:


Pick up the short Spoon Creek Falls Trail (#885) from the parking area and almost immediately, a spur to the left leads to a view above the falls.  This is the only spot you can see the upper section of the falls.


Continue on the trail as it descends moderately for a quarter mile to the creek below the falls.  There is a nice pool here for wading or swimming if the weather is warm.
