Rock Creek Trail (#106):
Rock Creek Trail is an strenuous 11-mile trail through the northern section of the Snowy Range. The northern trailhead is 2 miles off I-80 at exit 272. Following Rock Creek upstream, the trail passes the remains of an old miner's cabin after about 1.5 miles. In about 4 miles, the trail crosses Stud Creek on a footbridge just over Stud Creek Falls. Then in 5 miles, there's another footbridge over Carlson Creek Falls. This is as far as I've hiked.
Points of Interest:
Carlson Creek Falls:
Carlson Creek Falls is located about 5 miles up Rock Creek Trail (#106) from the northern trailhead. A footbridge crosses the creek just above the waterfall.
Miner's Cabin:
There is the remains of an old miner's cabin about 1.5 miles south on Rock Creek Trail (#106) from the northern trailhead.
Stud Creek Falls:
Stud Creek Falls is about 4 miles up Rock Creek Trail (#106) from the northern trailhead. A footbridge crosses the creek above the waterfall and there's another drop visible upstream from the bridge.
