Pinnacle Park (Sylva)

Pinnacle Park is a 1088-acre park owned by the town of Sylva.  The land was previously used by the town as its watershed and in 1991 was leased to the Pinnacle Park Foundation for developing park.  Several trails have been developed that lead past creeks and waterfalls up to the Pinnacle with fantastic views over Sylva.  The trails also connect to Waterrock Knob on the Blue Ridge Parkway for a longer hike.  Hiking and camping in the park require a free permit, available at the trailhead.

Directions:

From Sylva, head north on Skyline Drive for about a mile and turn left on Fisher Creek Road right after passing under US-74.  Follow Fisher Creek Road for 2 miles to the end at a small parking area for the park.

Fisher Falls is a waterfall on East Fork Fisher Creek that's just off of East Fork Trail.

Split Rock:

Split Rock is a large boulder with a big crack down the middle.  It's along West Fork Trail about 0.5 miles from the trailhead.
