North Carolina Coastal Federation

The North Carolina Coastal Federation is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting North Carolina's coastline.  The federation was founded in 1982 and has worked on numerous projects to improve conditions of North Carolina's coast and to protect water quality.  Projects include living shoreline construction, oyster shell recycling programs, and conservation of coastal lands.

Preserves:


Hoop Pole Creek Preserve:


Hoop Pole Creek Preserve protects a parcel of maritime forest on Bogue Sound in Atlantic Beach.


North River Wetlands Preserve:


North River Wetlands Preserve is a wetlands restoration project in eastern Carteret County restoring farmland to its natural state.


Patsy Pond Nature Trail:


Patsy Pond Nature Trail leads through a longleaf pine flatwoods area in Croatan National Forest.
