NC MST Segment 16

Segment 16 of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail runs for 68.9 miles from Stella in Jones County to Oyster Point Campground in Croatan National Forest.  Also called The Croatan and Neusiok Trail, this segment is primarily in Croatain National Forest, ending on the 20-mile Neusiok Trail.  This segment includes about 22.4 miles on paved roads, 25.5 miles on forest roads and 21 miles on trail.

Route:

Segment 16 starts in Stella and follows paved roads into Croatan National Forest.  Once in the trail, the trail piggybacks on gravel forest roads.  At US-70, the route follows paved roads north to Pinecliff and then follows the entire Neusiok Trail to Oyster Point Campground, the eastern trailhead.
