Little Stony Waterfalls (Jefferson)

There are there waterfalls on Little Stony Creek in Scott County, Virginia.  The waterfalls are located in the Clinch Ranger District of Jefferson National Forest.

Directions:


From Coeburn, head south on VA-72 for 3.3 miles and turn right on Corder Town Road.  Go 1.1 miles and turn left on FR-700.  In 1.3 miles, turn left on FR-701 and follow 0.8 miles to the Little Stony parking area.

Hike Description:


Pick up Little Stony National Recreation Trail (#331) at the end of the parking area.  At 0.2 miles, the trail crosses the creek on a footbridge just upstream of the Upper Falls.  A scramble path leads down to the base.


In another 0.1 miles, the trail crosses the creek on a footbridge again, this time just upstream of the Middle Falls and a side path leads down to the base.


Continuing on the trail, at about 0.5 miles it passes the Upper Falls.  It's a steep scramble down to the base of this one.
