Little Mountain Falls (Fairy Stone)

Little Mountain Falls is a small waterfall on an unnamed tributary of Fairy Stone Lake in Patrick County, Virginia.  The waterfall is located in Fairy Stone State Park.

Directions:


From Danville, head west on US-58 for about 15 miles and take the exit for US-58/US-220.  Go 16 miles and take the exit for VA-57 Alt West.  Turn left on VA-57 Alt West and go 4.4 miles to where it merges with VA-57 west.  Drive 8.8 miles and turn right on VA-346 to enter the park.  In 1 mile, turn left at the Visitor Center and drive 0.5 miles to the trailhead parking on the left.

Hike Description:


From the parking area, cross the street and go straight on Beach Trail towards the campground.  In 0.1 miles, turn left on Lake Shore Trail and then right on Turkey Ridge Trail at 0.3 miles.  At 0.5 miles, turn right on Little Mountain Falls Trail and immediately come to a split.  Go left and follow the trail for 1 mile to the waterfall.
