Fairy Stone State Park

Fairy Stone State Park is a 4,741-acre Virginia State Park in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Patrick County.  Established in 1936, it is one of the first Virginia State Parks.  Junius B. Fishburn, a Roanoke newspaper published, donated the land for the park and the facilities were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps.  Today, the park contains the 168-acre Fairy Stone Lake with swimming, boating and fishing, camping and cabins, and an extensive trail system with multi-use trails for hiking, biking and equestrians.
