Holy Cross Ranger District

The Holy Cross Ranger District of White River National Forest comprises forest lands near the resort town of Vail.  There are two ski resorts in the district and its is very popular for winter recreation, including skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling.  The district has six developed campgrounds and more than 200 miles of trails.  Around 35% of the district's lands are designated wilderness.
