Glassmine Falls (Blue Ridge Parkway)

Glassmine Falls is a tall tall waterfall on Glassmine Branch in Buncombe County, North Carolina.  The waterfall is located in the Asheville Watershed, where access is strictly prohibited, but it can be viewed from a stop on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Directions:


From Asheville, head east on I-40 for about 5 miles and take exit 55.  Turn left on Porters Cove Road and then left on Tunnel Road.  Drive 1 mile and turn right towards the Blue Ridge Parkway.  Turn left to go northbound on the parkway and drive 21.3 miles to View Glass Mine Falls at milepost 361.2 and park.

Hike Description:


The waterfall is visible from the overlook although it quite far away.


The stream is very small and there is only water flowing right after a heavy rain.
