Deep Creek (GSMNP)

Deep Creek, located near Bryson City in Great Smoky Mountain National Park, is a picturesque area known for its cascading waterfalls, scenic hiking trails, and opportunities for tubing down its crystal-clear waters. Trails:


Deep Creek Trail


Deep Creek Trail starts from the Waterfall Trailhead and follows the creek upstream initially along an old road.  After about 2 miles, it becomes singletrack and continues up, eventually ending at US-441.


Deeplow Gap Trail


Deeplow Gap Trail starts at Indian Creek Trail and leads up to Deeplow Gap and then follows Little Creek down to Cooper Creek and then back up, ending at Mingus Creek Trail.


Indian Creek Trail


Indian Creek Trail splits from Deep Creek Trail about a mile from the trailhead and follows its namesake upstream.


Loop Trail


Loop Trail connects Deep Creek and Indian Creek Trails, making a 4 mile loop.


Thomas Divide Trail


Thomas Divide Trail starts from a trailhead on Tom Branch Road about 1 mile east of Deep Creek and follows the ridge up to Deeplow Gap and then ends at Newfound Gap Road.

Juney Whank Falls is a small waterfall just up from the Deep Creek Trailhead.


Indian Creek Falls


Indian Creek Falls is a 25-foot waterfall near the confluence with Deep Creek.


Little Creek Falls


Little Creek Falls is a 60-foot waterfall along Deeplow Gap Trail.


Tom Branch Falls


Tom Branch Falls is a waterfall at the confluence with Deep Creek.


Wiggins-Watson Cemetery


Wiggins-Watson Cemetery is along Thomas Divide Trail near the trailhead.
