Hike Description:

From the trailhead, follow New River Trail towards Galax (do not cross the street).  It is about 1 mile to a bridge over Chestnut Creek where the waterfall is easily visible.

Cross the bridge and look for a side path on the left that leads down to the top of the waterfall.  You can scramble on the rocks here for a view, but the rocks are very slippery.
