Chattahoochee Wildlife Management Area

Chattahoochee Wildlife Management Area is a 25,000-acre Georgia Wildlife Management Area in Chattahoochee National Forest in Towns, Union and White County.  The area is used for hunting as well as hiking, camping, fishing and wildlife viewing.  The area consists of forest lands north and west of Helen including the headwaters of Chattahoochee River.  Part of Mark Trail Mountain Wilderness is within the WMA and the Appalachian Trail runs along the western perimeter.

Points of Interest:


Chute Falls:


Chute Falls is a 20-foot waterfall through a narrow gorge on the Upper Chattahoochee River.


Horsetrough Falls:


Horsetrough Falls is a beautiful 75-foot waterfall on a tributary of Chattahoochee River.



Spoilcane Tributary Upper Falls:


Spoilcane Tributary Upper Falls is a roadside waterfall on a tributary of Spoilcane Creek.


Wilks Creek Lower Falls:


Wilks Creek Lower Falls is a 25-foot cascade not far from the road.


Wilks Creek Upper Falls:


Wilks Creek Upper Falls is a 40-foot waterfall that is difficult to get a view of.
