Cascade River State Park is a 5000-acre Minnesota State Park in Cook County. The park is centered around Cascade River and its mouth at Lake Superior. Named for the waterfalls and cascades along its length, Cascade River flows through beautiful volcanic basalt rock. The park was established as a wayside by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s and officially became a state park in 1957. Today, the park has many miles of hiking trails, including the Superior Hiking Trail and North Shore State Trail, camping and a historic lodge along Lake Superior.
