Cascade Falls and Cascades (Cascade River)

The Cascades and Cascade Falls are a series of waterfalls on Cascade River in Cook County, Minnesota.  The waterfalls are located in Cascade River State Park.

Directions:

From Duluth, head north on I-35 for about 2 miles and take exit 259 for MN-61 north towards the North Shore.  Follow MN-61 for 97.7 miles to a parking area on the left for Cascade Falls.

Hike Description:

From the parking area, Cascade River Trail follows the river up to a viewpoint of Cascade Falls from the trail at about 0.1 miles.

Continue up the trail another 0.1 miles to reach the Cascades, a series of several smaller drops on the river.

A bridge over the river provides a nice view.
