Breaks Interstate Park

Breaks Interstate Park is a bi-state park along the border of Kentucky and Virginia.  Although part of both the Virginia and Kentucky state park systems, Breaks is a separate entity created by interstate compact established by Congress.  The park is named for a beak in the Pine Mountain ridgeline, which runs from Tennessee to Kentucky.  The gorge is 5 miles long and reaches depths of 1650 feet, earning the moniker "Grand Canyon of the South".
