Brandywine Creek State Park is a 933-acre Delaware State Park in New Castle County in the northern part of the state. The park is located along Brandywine Creek and manages four nature preserves in the northern Delaware Piedmont. Much of the land in the park was once part of the du Pont estate and was purchased by the state to form a state park in 1965. The park grew to its present size in 1981 when approximately 500 acres were donated by the Woodlawn Trustees. Today, the park has more than 14 miles of trails connecting with First State National Historical Park and opportunities for water recreation on the creek.
