Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area

Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area is a 125,000 national park in Kentucky and Tennessee.  The park protects the free-flowing Big South Fork of Cumberland River, which contains many gorges, bluffs and natural arches.  The park contains river access and whitewater opportunities, rock climbing, scenic drives and many miles of hiking trails.

Julia Lynn Falls:


Julia Lynn Falls is a 20-foot waterfall on a small tributary near the Yacamraw Bridge.



Yahoo Arch:


Yahoo Arch is a natural rock arch near Yahoo Creek in the northern part of the park.


Yahoo Falls:


Yahoo Falls is the highest waterfall in Kentucky.


Wildlife:


Yellow jewelweed (Impatiens pallida)


Orange jewelweed (Impatiens capensis)
