Beaver Basin Wilderness

Beaver Basin Wilderness is an 11,740-acre wilderness area located within Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Alger County, Michigan.  The wilderness was formed in 2009 by the Omnibus Public Land Management Act and protects 13 miles of Lake Superior shoreline from Spray Falls to Sevenmile Creek.  More than 8 miles of the North County Trail and 8 miles of additional trails lead through the wilderness to six backcountry campsites.  There are three lakes and 5 cold-water streams flowing through the wilderness.
