Wichita Falls Waterfall

Wichita Falls is a manmade waterfall on a tributary of Wichita River in Wichita County, Texas.  The waterfall is located Lucy Park.

From Wichita Falls, take exit 1A for US-277 Business.  Turn right on 5th Street and go 0.5 miles then turn right onto Sunset Drive to enter Lucy Park.

Hike Description:


Pick up the greenway trail that follows Wichita River downstream.  In 0.4 miles, the waterfall will be on the right just before the trail goes under I-44.


Steps lead up along the waterfall to view the different sections.


The city of Wichita Falls is named for the waterfall, though the natural waterfall was destroyed in flooding in the 19th century.  In the 1980s, the city built this manmade waterfall to replace its namesake.
