Walker Ranch (Boulder)

Walker Ranch is a 2500-acre park protected by Boulder County.  The area is listed on National Register of Historical Places as a cultural landscape.  James Walker moved to Boulder from Missouri in 1869 and received a homestead claim in 1882.  By 1959, the ranch had increased to more than 60,000 acres, one of the largest in the region.  There are about 12 miles of trails throughout the ranch as well as restored historical buildings.
