Tory's Falls (Hanging Rock)

Tory's Falls is a 50-foot waterfall on a tributary of Vade Mecum Creek in Stokes County, North Carolina.  The waterfall is located in Hanging Rock State Park.

Directions:


From Winston-Salem, head north on US-52 for about 13 miles to exit 122 for Moore-RJR Drive.  Turn left and drive 4.4 miles then turn left on NC-66 north.  Go 6.9 miles and turn right on Moore's Spring Road.  Drive 0.5 miles and turn right on Mickey Road and then right on Charlie Young Road after 0.8 miles.  Follow this for 0.4 miles and to a parking area on the left.

Hike Description:


Follow the trail from the east end of the parking area for less than a quarter-mile to the waterfall.


It's on a very small stream so best to visit after a heavy rain.  There is a cool cave just past the waterfall.
