Surveyor Branch Falls (Bluestone)

Surveyor Branch Falls is an small, seasonal waterfall on its namesake, a tributary of Bluestone Lake, in Summers County, West Virginia.  The waterfall is located in Bluestone State Park.

Directions:


From Beckley, head south on US-19 for about 6 miles and turn left onto WV-3 east.  Drive 10 miles and bear right on Sand Knob Road and then left on Leatherwood Road in 0.4 miles.  Follow this for 2.2 miles and turn right on Surveyor Branch Road.  Go 1.6 miles and turn right Bluestone Park Road.  In under 1/2 miles, make a sharp right after the park headquarters and follow to the end at the boat ramp.

Hike Description:


Walk down towards the boat ramp a hundred feet or so and look to the left to see the waterfall.  It looked like there was a path down to the base, but it was very slick and I didn't try to go down.
