South Mountains Game Land

South Mountains Game Land is a 21,647-acre North Carolina Game Land in the South Mountains in Burke, Cleveland, McDowell and Rutherford Counties.  In addition to hunting and fishing, there are trails and old roads available for hiking though they are no good maps.  The game lands are adjacent to South Mountains State Park, creating a large area of public lands.  Several waterfalls can be found in the area, but most are difficult to access.
