South Carolina State Parks

The South Carolina State Park service manages a number of state parks and other recreation sites.

State Parks:


Kings Mountain State Park:


Kings Mountain State Park protects a portion of the Piedmont mountains just across the state line from North Carolina.


Keowee-Toxaway State Park:


Keowee-Toxaway State Park has hiking, camping and water activities along Lake Keowee in Pickens County.


Landsford Canal State Park:


Landsford Canal State Park protects historical canal ruins along the Catawba River.


Oconee State Park:


Oconee State Park is located in the upstate region in the Blue Ridge Mountains.


Poinsett State Park:


Poinsett State Park is located in the High Hills of Santee where the Sandhills meets the coastal plain.


State Historic Sites:


Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site:


Located near Charleston, Charles Towne Landing State Historic Site is the site of the first English settlement in what is today South Carolina.


Oconee Station State Historic Site:


Oconee Station State Historic Site protects an 18th century militia outpost in the Upstate region.

Wildcat Wayside:


Wildcat Wayside is a small state park area within Mountain Bridge Wilderness with several waterfalls.
